Getting started

What to do the first time you open Apporo aiot.

The app is a window onto a home server that you or your installer runs. It does not store your home in the cloud, so before it can show you anything it has to find that server on your network.

The first run

Open the app and choose Connect to my smart home server. The app looks for servers on the Wi-Fi you are joined to and lists whatever it finds. Pick yours, sign in with the username and password for that server, and you are done.

If nothing is listed, your phone may be on a different network from the server — on a guest network, or on mobile data. Join the same Wi-Fi and try again, or use Enter address manually.

What to set up next

  • Allow notifications, so your home can reach you — see Notifications.
  • Tell the app which Wi-Fi networks count as home, so it uses the fast local address — see Home network.
  • Turn on the sensors you want to use in automations — see Sensors.

More than one home

You can add several servers and switch between them from the sidebar. Each one keeps its own login, its own sensors and its own notification settings.
