Notifications
Letting your home reach you, and what it can say.
Notifications are how your home tells you something happened when you are not looking at the app — a door left open, a leak detected, a delivery at the gate.
Turning them on
The app asks during setup. If you said no, you can change it in Settings → Notifications, or in Android's own app settings.
How they arrive
Notifications are sent from your home server to your phone. When your phone is reachable on the home network the app can receive them directly over the local connection; otherwise they travel through the push service.
If notifications only arrive when the app is open, see Local push.
They stop arriving
- Check notifications are still allowed for the app in Android settings.
- Check the app is excluded from battery optimisation — aggressive power saving silently delays or drops them.
- Check the server can still reach the push service.
