Widgets
Putting controls and readings on your home screen.
A widget puts one thing from your home on the phone's home screen, where you can see or press it without opening the app.
Adding one
Long-press an empty part of the home screen, choose Widgets, find Apporo aiot in the list and drag the one you want into place. The app then asks which server and which thing it should show.
What is available
- Button — runs an action when pressed.
- Entity state — shows one reading, such as a temperature.
- Media player — transport controls for something that plays.
- Camera — a still from a camera, refreshed periodically.
- To-do list — a list you can tick off from the home screen.
- Template — a line of text you compose yourself from several readings.
A widget stops updating
Widgets refresh on a schedule Android controls, and aggressive battery saving can stop that schedule. Exclude the app from battery optimisation, and check the phone can still reach the server.
