Camera and microphone

Why the app asks for access, and how that access is used.

The app asks for the camera and the microphone only for features you start yourself. Neither is used in the background, and neither is recorded or sent anywhere except to your own home server.

Camera

Used to scan a QR code when you are pairing with a server or setting something up. Nothing is stored.

Microphone

Used when you press the assist button to speak a command. Audio goes to your home server, which is where the command is understood — not to us, and not to a third party. The microphone is not opened until you press the button.
