Move a 24/7 AI butler into your home

The pi agent smart butler package lives on the smart-home hub in your house. It doesn't just take orders — it builds features for you, watches over your home, and saves you money. And your data never leaves the building.

Why you need it

Why your home needs a brain

An ordinary smart home is hands and feet: you write the rules, it follows them. Lights on at a set time, air conditioning when it senses someone — anything outside the rules it cannot do, and when a rule breaks, nobody finds out.

pi agent is the brain: you describe what you want and it builds it; it reads your home's data every day and tells you, unprompted, what could be better and what is about to fail.

PositioningThe difference isn't whether you can control the house. It's whether anyone is making it better, day after day.
The idea: you don't have to become an engineer — your home gains one. Buying devices answers "can I control this". pi agent answers "is anyone actually making this home work better, year after year".
What it is

What pi agent is

It is an AI butler package installed on your home's smart-home hub (Home Assistant). Once it is in, you gain three things:

  • A window that understands plain language: chat to make requests, ask questions, give commands.
  • An engineer who never goes home: automations, dashboards, information services — describe them and they appear.
  • A butler on daily patrol: inspects your devices, analyses the data, reports back on its own.

ArchitectureThe gold dashed line is your house. Everything you live inside stays within it; only what a single request needs ever crosses.
Note: already have a smart home? That's fine — pi agent is an add-on. Your existing devices, automations and habits all stay exactly as they are. It simply gives the home you already have a brain.
Four core abilities

Four core abilities

Every exchange below is a real way to use it: you say it in plain language, pi agent does it.

You sayBlue box = what you (or your family) actually say out loud
pi agentGrey box = what pi agent reports and suggests on its own

Want a feature? Just ask for it

No engineer to hire, no code to learn. The automations, scenes and dashboards you want — describe them and they're ready to use.

You say"I want a coming-home mode: hall light on, air con to 26°, soft music."
You say"Build me a whole-house energy dashboard for the tablet by the fridge."
You say"If the kids' room light is still on at 10pm, remind them to go to sleep."
You say"Tell me if the cat feeder hasn't run for more than 12 hours."
You say"Change the balcony grow light to two hours either side of sunrise."

It reads the data, and gets sharper

The temperature, humidity, energy and switching logs your home builds up every day — it reviews them regularly and tells you what to adjust, rather than waiting to be asked.

pi agent"Your humidity falls on its own in the afternoon — the dehumidifier can start two hours later."
pi agent"The living room light runs two extra hours a day on average. A motion sensor would save a lot over a year."
pi agent"25° and 26° feel about the same, but the bill differs by 8%."
pi agent"The main bedroom window heats up fastest in the afternoon sun — closing the blinds half an hour earlier works best."

Your home runs its own little server

The everyday information services you want don't need somebody else to build an app first — tell it, and it writes and hosts them itself, right on your own hub.

On your way out, the hall screen reads: "Bus 278 in 3 minutes", "YouBike: 2 left".
pi agent"90% chance of rain tomorrow — bring the washing in tonight."
Ten minutes before the rubbish truck reaches the complex, LINE reminds you.
Air quality is poor today, so the door screen tells you to mask up, shut the windows and run the purifier.
Your own weather, fuel-price and exchange-rate panel, the moment you want one.

Manuals and notes — just ask

Appliance manuals, warranty cards, tradesmen's numbers, renovation records, recipe notes: hand them over and it files the lot. After that, any household puzzle is one question away.

You ask"How do I run the drum clean on the washing machine?"
You ask"When does the water heater warranty end, and who installed it?"
You ask"What's the number for the plumber who came last time?"
You ask"How do I set sleep mode on the air con remote?"
You ask"Where did I write down the braised pork ratio?"

Note: vague is fine. Say "I want the sort of light that's… easier on the eyes at night" and it will ask you for the details, so the two of you pin the requirement down before it builds anything.
Looks after itself

It looks after your home by itself

The real pain of a smart home isn't building it — it's that when something breaks, nobody knows. pi agent patrols the whole house every day: it fixes what it can, and tells you about what it can't.

Patrols and repairs itself

Flat batteries flagged early, dropped sensors spotted unprompted, broken automations repaired and then reported. You don't find out only when a light won't come on.

pi agent"The hall sensor hasn't reported for 3 days. I checked — flat battery. Added to the shopping list."
pi agent"Last night's goodnight mode missed one lamp. Found the cause, already fixed."

It rehearses before it changes anything

Every adjustment is simulated first, so it never fixes one thing and breaks three. The more automations your home accumulates, the more that insurance is worth.

pi agent"This change would affect goodnight mode. I tested it first, and only applied it once it passed."

It remembers why every setting exists

Six months later, ask "why is the dehumidifier set to 55%?" and it can still give you the original reason. Your home's settings stop being a black box — whoever takes over can follow them.

You ask"Why is the bathroom light only 30% in the middle of the night?" — it remembers: you asked for that last year.
Thinks and judges

It doesn't just execute — it judges

Traditional automation only knows "if the condition is met, act". pi agent adds a layer in between that used to require a person.

It tells situations apart, the way a person would

Someone is at the door: it can tell family from a delivery driver from a stranger loitering, then decides how to notify you — instead of buzzing every single time.

What happened at the doorIts judgementWhat reaches you
Family comes homeRecognised, one of oursNo alert, just logged
A driver leaves a parcel and goesDelivery behaviourNormal alert: "Parcel left at the door"
A stranger stays more than 5 minutesUnusual, worth attentionImmediate alert, with the live view

It brings the power bill down

It understands time-of-use tariffs: hungry appliances run off-peak, and by mid-month it already tells you roughly what this bill will come to and how much you've saved.

pi agent"Dehumidifier switched to drying off-peak and merely holding at peak — around NT$300 saved this month."
pi agent"I've moved the dishwasher and dryer to after 10:30pm, where the rate is half."

Connects to anything

There is nothing it can't connect

If it doesn't exist, it builds it for you

Where the rubbish truck has got to, earthquake early warnings, school closure notices, community announcements — no ready-made integration? It writes one and plugs it in. From here on, "not supported" leaves your smart home's vocabulary.

You say"I want to know where the rubbish truck is right now." — by the next day, it was on the hall screen.
You say"Tell me the moment a typhoon day is announced." — it watches the government notice board for you every night.

Consumables and warranty butler

How many hours the filter has run, whether the battery was ever changed, the day the warranty expires — it keeps track of all of it and speaks up on time.

pi agent"The air purifier filter has run 2,000 hours. Time to replace it — purchase link attached."
pi agent"One month of air con warranty left. If it's making an odd noise, book the repair now."
pi agent"The water filter cartridge expires next month. Shall I order one?"

When it matters, it acts

Invisible most of the time; unmistakable when it counts. An alert arrives and the whole house moves to plan.

Earthquake warning: every light on, smart locks released, house-wide announcement.
Typhoon alert: reminds you to clear the balcony, checks every door and window sensor one by one.
Leak sensor trips in the small hours: shuts the solenoid valve, wakes you.
The whole family

Everyone in the house can use it

Nothing to learn — just talk

Not everybody at home wants to learn an app. Anyone can ask in ordinary speech: it understands, it delivers, and it explains itself clearly. Whoever maintains the house stops being the family help desk.

Partner"The evening lights are too bright." — it adjusted them, and reported exactly what it changed.
A parent"Why is there no hot water?" — it checked the status and explained in plain words.
A child"How do I connect to the printer?" — it pulled up the manual and walked them through it.

A child's first maker class

Want to build a little temperature and humidity gadget, or add a lighting effect to a bedroom? Children "write code by talking" alongside it, and the house turns out to be the best laboratory there is.

A child"I want to make something that plays a sound when the door opens!"
Privacy: video, routines and household records all live on your own hub, never in the cloud. When AI judgement is genuinely needed, only the content required for that one moment is sent. Your home is not somebody else's dataset.
A day with it

A day with pi agent

Always there, and never in the way.

  1. 07:10 · Heading out

Hall screen: bus in 3 minutes, rain this afternoon — take an umbrella

The information you need waits where you'll walk past it. No digging through three apps on the doorstep.

  2. 10:30 · Nobody home

"A parcel has been left at the door"

The camera saw a person; it judged delivery rather than visitor, and told you at normal priority instead of making a drama of it.

  3. 14:00 · Afternoon

    The dehumidifier holds off

It knows your humidity falls by itself in the afternoon, and that right now is peak rate — so it dries off-peak instead. Same result, smaller bill.

  4. 17:40 · Early evening

"Rubbish truck reaches the gate in 10 minutes"

LINE reminds you on time. No more chasing the music down the street.

  5. 19:30 · After dinner

A child asks: "I need to print my maths worksheet — how do I connect to the printer?"

No need to shout for Mum or Dad — it pulls up the manual and takes them through it a step at a time.

  6. 22:00 · Before bed

"90% chance of rain tomorrow — did the washing come in?"

One offhand reminder saves you a whole basket of rewashing in the morning.

  7. 23:30 · Everyone asleep

Night patrol: 2 low batteries logged, all doors and windows shut, goodnight

You go to sleep. It takes the shift.

  8. Monday 08:00

This week's family report arrives on LINE

Consumption, device health, and everything it quietly took care of this week — a minute to read.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

I know nothing about programming. Can I still use it?
Yes — and that is precisely why it exists. Every feature is delivered through plain-language conversation, with pi agent handling the technology underneath. You only need to describe what you want, never how to achieve it.
I already have a smart home. Can this be added?
Yes. pi agent installs as a package on your Home Assistant hub. Your existing devices, automations and habits are all preserved — it simply adds a brain to the home you already have.
What happens when the internet goes down?
Your automations and controls run locally, so they carry on regardless — lights still switch, sensors still fire. The AI conversation and analysis features pick up automatically once the connection returns.
Will my household data be uploaded?
Video, routines and household records are stored on your own hub, not in the cloud. When AI judgement is needed, only the content required for that specific request is sent, and it is not retained. This is the most fundamental difference from a cloud speaker.
How is it priced?
The package build is a one-off cost. After that you pay for AI usage by what you actually consume — like electricity or water: pay for what you use, and nothing at all while it simply sits on standby. For detailed plans, speak to Apporo or your dealer.
Could it change my settings without asking?
No. It only does what you have asked for. When a patrol turns up a problem, small repairs are carried out and then reported; anything with wider consequences is always put to you first. Every change is logged, and can be rolled back at any time.
